Changes for Guantanamo Trials

The Obama administration proposes a series of changes to the military commissions trials to make things move quicker and be less costly.
Part of those changes would include allowing judges to hear detainee pretrial by videoconference; allowing civilian government lawyers, instead of uniformed ones – “to reduce cost caused by periodic mandatory redeployments of military officers”.
