Tortured Guantanamo detainee demands to be freed

On Thursday (2/6/2016), Mohamedou Ould Slahi, one of the most severely tortured Guantanamo detainee and bestselling author of Guantánamo Diary presented his case of freedom to the board.

Despite all that happened to him “Mohamedou has made clear that he holds no grudge against anyone at Guantánamo” said one of his attorneys, Theresa Duncan to the board.

However, the US government indicated that they do not see releasing Slahi as a conclusion, because his profile describes him as a principal terrorist network contacts “while living in Germany, Canada and Mauritania”.
